Technische Werkstätten GmbH was founded at Vienna on 12 April 1921 and began producing a Franz Dozekal-designed small car under the Avis badge. The company moved to Brunn am Gebirge and became Avis Flugzeug- und Autowerke in July 1924, adding aircraft manufacture while retaining its automobile activity. Its only documented road model was the 4/20 PS, credited with 80 km/h maximum speed and 8.5 L/100 km consumption. Car production ended in 1928; sources place final corporate dissolution in either 1928 or 1931.
