Autoette grew from earlier small-scale electric experiments into a Long Beach manufacturing operation controlled by Newton Blood and partners through 1970. Its compact three-wheel vehicles used Trojan batteries and initially a converted 24-volt Dodge starter motor, later replaced by a purpose-built unit. The CruiseAbout served as a two- or four-seat shopping car and early mobility vehicle, with optional curb-side accessibility door from 1953; Golfmobile and Electric Truck variants addressed leisure and utility roles. Their quiet low-speed operation made them familiar on sidewalks, shopping districts and golf courses before regulation and changing markets ended production.
