Frankfurt's Adlerwerke established an assembly operation in Vienna in 1912 as Österreichische Adler-Werke. Locally completed cars retained Adler identity and were also known as Austro-Adler, distinguishing them in the Austro-Hungarian market from imported German production. Sources state that several parent-company-equivalent models were assembled, but only the 7/17 PS is individually recoverable: an approximately 1.8-litre four-cylinder car rated at 17 PS. The Vienna operation ended in 1914 as war disrupted civilian automobile manufacture. One vehicle is reported to survive. Austro-Adler is kept separate from Austro-Daimler and related to, but not silently merged into, the broader Adler catalog.
