AB Atlas commissioned engineer Harald Håkansson to build an electric automobile in Stockholm in 1900. The resulting one-off used powerful batteries and a pair of one-horsepower motors mounted at the front wheels, giving a stated 25 km/h maximum speed and 30 km range. Its modular drive assembly could theoretically motor an otherwise unpowered carriage, but the project never entered series production. Although some entity records extend the organization to 1902, the source-attested Atlas automobile program began and ended in 1900.
