Percy Herbert Cecil Sandham established Ascot Motor Co as a London bicycle firm in 1899 and added motorcycles around 1901–1902. Typical machines used 2¾ hp Minerva or Antoine singles, belt drive and front band brakes; Ascot also listed a passenger forecar. Power rose to 3 hp and optional magneto ignition by 1905, alongside an unusual 1 hp French import. A 3½ hp automobile with patented valve control appeared only in 1904. Motorcycle manufacture ended after 1905, although Sandham's later engineering businesses continued bicycles and sidecars under different identities.
