Le Mans competitor and Panhard dealer Raymond Gaillard rescued the remains of the failed Callista project in 1952–1953 and relaunched it as Arista. The first Ranelagh was a very light Panhard Dyna X-based cabriolet/roadster named for the street containing Gaillard's dealership. The 1956 Passy 2+2 coupé adopted the 848 cc Dyna Z/PL17 engine, followed by a 50 hp Tigre-powered Sport. Attractive fiberglass bodies could not offset prices disproportionate to their modest performance, and sales dwindled. Arista disappeared around 1963, while associated designers later contributed to Sovam.
