Veteran professional-car builders Waldo J. Cotner and Robert Bevington founded American Quality Coach at Blytheville, Arkansas, after disagreements following Cotner-Bevington's absorption into the Miller-Meteor organization. Their defining and only completed production design was the AQC Jetway 707, an enormous front-wheel-drive airport limousine based on the Oldsmobile Toronado and stretched over three axles. Planned VIP limousines, hearses, ambulances and combination cars did not progress into documented production. Development consumed the company's capital; bankruptcy followed in 1969 and the plant closed in 1970 after somewhere between 52 and 150 Jetways.
