Mengcheng Machinery, founded in 1970 for agricultural equipment, registered Anchi and entered vehicle production in 1988 with Suzuki Carry-derived minitruck, van and minivan forms. After Hafei invested in 1995, Anchi added the MC6330, a rebadged Hafei Baili derived from the Daewoo Tico. Production collapsed around 2001 and the company was declared bankrupt in 2004. Zhejiang Zhongneng revived it in 2007 with pickups, SUVs and an unsuccessful electric-car project. JAC acquired the operation in late 2010, transformed the MC1021-K5 into the JAC Ruiling and progressively replaced Anchi badges; the government withdrew Anchi's MC production permit in 2016.
