Amor-Automobil-Bau emerged in 1924 from the former Auto Hallen Cöln-West Florian Lefrère concern at Cologne's Friesenplatz, with Lefrère Motorfahrzeuge handling manufacture and distribution. Its principal and best documented automobile was the compact 4/16 PS, powered by a proprietary water-cooled four-cylinder engine and offered as open or closed two-, three- and four-seaters as well as a delivery van. Competition entries in reliability trials and the Eifel races promoted the inexpensive 'Volksauto', but sales remained limited. Production stopped in 1925 and the small company was liquidated in 1926.
