The Dunkley family, already established in prams and its own motor vehicles, formed the Alvechurch Light Car Company near Birmingham in 1911. Its sole cyclecar used an 8 hp air-cooled Matchless V-twin and belt drive. Engineers could not make the drive system reliable, limiting output to only two cars and contributing to the company's immediate failure. The ALC identity was briefly revived in 1913 without achieving viable production.
