Alexander Dennis emerged in 2004 when Mayflower Corporation's collapsed TransBus operation was bought by a management-led consortium. It reunited the Alexander and Dennis traditions, later reacquired Plaxton in 2007, expanded Enviro assembly and partnerships across Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America, and joined NFI Group in 2019. The company replaced inherited Pointer, ALX and President bodies with lightweight Enviro single- and double-deck buses, then developed hybrid and battery-electric derivatives. Dennis Fire and Plaxton coach products retain separate badge histories and are not silently folded into this marque.
