Manufacturas Mecánicas Aleu of Esparreguera moved from making motorcycle parts to complete machines in 1952. Its attractive 125 cc two-stroke motorcycle used Monfort frames and achieved some regularity-trial and motocross success, but material quality and reliability restricted sales. At the 1954 Barcelona Trade Fair Aleu pursued diversification with the 197 cc Nito prototype, Bambi three-wheeler, Cachorro cargo tricycle and a small four-wheel microcar program. Weak volume prevented sustained investment, and principal supplier and creditor Monfort absorbed the brand, permits, machinery and roughly 25-person workforce in 1956.
