Aletra Cars Indonesia introduced its new Indonesian EV marque in 2024 through a technical and manufacturing relationship with China's Livan/Geely group. Its first product, the L8 EV, debuted at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week on 22 November 2024 as a seven-seat electric MPV derived from the Livan Maple 80V L. Local right-hand-drive production began at PT Handal Indonesia Motor in 2025, with standard- and long-range batteries and a later eight-seat option tailored to Indonesian family use. Aletra presents the L8 as the foundation of a domestic cleaner-mobility ecosystem and prospective Asia-Pacific exports.
