Agrale was established in 1962 at Caxias do Sul as Agrisa, initially producing Agrisa-Bungartz tractors under German licence. It adopted the Agrale identity and expanded through technical relationships with Deutz-Fahr and Zetor into tractors, trucks, bus chassis and engines. Between 1984 and 1997 Agrale built more than 400,000 Cagiva-derived motorcycles. Its road-vehicle activity broadened through commercial trucks and, from 2004, the Marruá four-wheel-drive utility family developed for Brazilian military requirements. Agrale later added Argentine manufacturing and continued as part of the Francisco Stedile Group, serving civil, agricultural, export and defence markets.
