Designer Dennis Adams, previously responsible for Adams Probe Motor, founded Adams Roadsters at Frome, Somerset, in 1982. Automobile and kit manufacture began in 1986 under the Adams badge. Its sole Roadster combined a ladder frame and fiberglass 1930s-style body resembling the S.S. 100; a Vauxhall Monza-powered prototype preceded production cars using Jaguar XJ6 six-cylinder mechanicals. Approximately eighteen examples were built before vehicle production ended in 1999. The company remained registered until dissolution in 2011.
