ABS (Auto Build-up Services)

Former Brightwheel Replicas employee Jonathan Michael Homewood incorporated Auto Build-up Services Limited at Three Legged Cross, Dorset, on 9 December 1986 with Carolyn Homewood as director and brother Nick Homewood involved in the operation. ABS first supplied chassis to Broadbest, then began selling its own cars and kits in 1988. Both models used a bespoke spaceframe, fiberglass Countach-inspired body, scissor doors and customer-selected V6 or V8 power. The fixed-roof Scorpion emphasized coupe authenticity, while the costlier Monaco used a targa opening and extra chassis reinforcement developed with engineers who had worked for Chevron and Shadow racing teams. About two Scorpions and three Monacos were supplied before ABS ended production in 1991. Buyer Alan Milford later founded Prestige Sports Cars with Nick Homewood and continued the projects in 1994–1995 as the Prestige Denaro and Monaco; those later cars remain under their successor identity.
